Bangladesh-UK Joint Declaration Signed to Establish Aviation Partnership
A joint declaration has been signed between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom to purchase passenger and cargo aircraft from Europe's Airbus and to establish an aviation partnership for necessary cooperation in the development of Bangladesh's aviation sector.
Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F. Rahman MP and UK Investment Minister Lord Dominic Johnson signed the declaration on Friday (May 5) in London, United Kingdom. At this time, the Chief Secretary of the Prime Minister Md. Tofazzal Hossain Miah and UK Prime Minister's Bangladesh Trade Envoy Roshanara Ali MP were present.
In a response after the signing of the Joint Communiqué, UK Investment Minister Lord Dominic Johnson said, "Through a working aviation partnership, Bangladesh's aviation industry will be strengthened and new jobs will be created in both countries. ''
Adviser to the Prime Minister Salman F Rahman MP expressed his satisfaction in this regard and said, "As a result of this initiative, a long and effective relationship can be established between Airbus and Bangladesh Biman. Through which Bangladesh's current relationship with the UK, France, Germany and the European Union can be strengthened.
As a result of this initiative, the aviation industry of Bangladesh will develop. Besides, Bangladesh's commercial relations with other European partners of Airbus, including the United Kingdom, will also be strengthened. Bangladesh can also get a long-term loan facility from the UK's export finance for the purchase of this aircraft on easy terms. This initiative will play an important role in the expansion and diversification of the aviation sector in Bangladesh. This can take the aircraft capacity to a much higher level in passenger and cargo business.
